On his way, he meets cats, some kind, some horrible. He overcomes everything and finally stumbles upon Edgar road. He knows he’s found his new home. However, the residents of the street don’t think so. They think another stray is the last thing they need.

Claire, a sweet lady, moves to Edgar Road. Alfie is more than welcome to stay with her. It is not easy for her to be alone, after all she has just been through…

After just a few days on Edgar Road, Alfie sees residents experiencing the darkest days of their lives. They finally realize how much they need Alfie – A cat who brings light in the darkest of times, and who will always be a friend to those in need.

As an avid reader, I’ve read many books, but none of the cat-based books conveyed so much. I really loved the way Rachel Wells wrote this book from Alfie’s point of view which really made me feel connected with the whole story. A cat helping people through their hardest problems is just so surprising and beautiful. I totally recommend this book to you if you are searching for a heartwarming and uplifting read. I’d recommend this book to ages 11+. It’s perfect for you if you’ve read A street cat named Bob or Solomon’s tale.

About the Author – Rachel Wells

Rachel Wells is a mother, writer, and cat lover. She lives in Devon with her family and her pets and believes in the magic of animals. Rachel grew up in Devon but lived in London in her twenties working in marketing and living in a tiny flat with an elderly rescued cat, Albert. She has always had cats as pets, ever since a young child, and she has always wanted to write. Rachel is delighted to have been able to combine her two main passions at last.

Alfie The Doorstep Cat always has a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to read more of Alfie’s adventures!

I give this book 5 sparkling stars!
